Let’s start with a quote from Paul Claudel that summarizes what wine represents for us: ‘’ Wine has a three folded mission and carries a triple communion : one with mother earth (…) from whom he receives soul and body, one with ourselves – it is the wine that slowly develops and lets the element of our personality blossom, that opens us towards the future and towards happy perspectives; wine is a professor of taste, freeing the spirit and brightening the intelligence. Finally wine is the symbol and means of social communication: the table joins all the guests together and the glass that is passed around bonds us all in common understanding, sympathy and mercy.

Subcategories

Tradition

The vines located at the foot of the hills of Pfaffenheim, mainly on silt based soils grow grapes typical of each varietal. Our "Tradition" range invites you to discover the specific aromas of each of our 7 Alsatian varietals. These are young, light and fruity wines.
Crémant

The Crémant draws its success from the scrupulous respect of the various manufacturing steps derived from the traditional champagne method; this method requires a second fermentation in the bottle and aging on the lees for at least a year. As sparkling wines, the Crémant is a favorite for all festive occasions.
Terroir

The vines producing our Terroir wines are located higher on the best hills of Pfaffenheim where the soils become more clay-limestone based. Those grapes allow us to make marvelous “food wines”, complex and full bodied with delicate aromas.
Grands Crus

Steinert and Zinnkoepfle are the best soils (terroirs) of Pfaffenhein and Weshalten and home of our great “Grands Crus” wines Each of our Grand Cru expresses his unique characterisctics: power for Steinert and fineness for Zinnkoepfle Our Grand Crus are made from grapes harvested on low yield and healthy vines at the pick of their maturity. They offer fine, delicate, subtle and also deep aromas; are concentrated, harmonious and constant in their taste.
Vendanges Tardives

Late harvest wines are a specialty from Domaine Moltes and are made from over ripe grapes harvested way after the classic harvest times. The “noble” rot already happening on the grapes gives them a much longer aging ability. They are part of the “elite” of French sweet wines.
Sélection Grains Nobles
